Prologue

Hello, my name is Ali and I am a book junkie.

I am also a Northern Virginia-based freelance writer. Of the many things a writer can do to improve her craft, I think two are most important:

1. writing a lot
   
2. reading a lot

So I have decided to create this blog as a way of challenging myself to do more of both, and to challenge myself to read a greater variety of books. Lately I have been reading mostly nonfiction, including books on writing. Part of my motivation for reading more is to rediscover the sheer pleasure of getting lost in a good story. And I also wanted a place to indulge my inner book nerd, a place to keep track of, and reflect on what I've read.
