Booking Through Thursday - Blurbs - Belated Edition

I've been so busy working on my NaNoWriMo project, and other stuff, that I missed Booking Through Thursday yesterday. The question:

Something I’ve been thinking about lately: “What words/phrases in a blurb make a book irresistible? What words/phrases will make you put the book back down immediately?”

My response: Wow. This is a toughie. I'll have to think about this.....

....Okay, got it: Phrases like "beautifully written,"  "complicated journey" and words like "poetic," "charming," "unexpected" and the overused adjective "lyrical" make me want to read a book. "Suspenseful," "paranormal," "romance," (or any combination thereof) don't really do it for me.
